Republican Joel Bomgar took 68 percent against Bruce Bartley for the seat of retiring Rita Martinson (House 58) in Madison County.

May 20, 2o15: Jackson Free Press: The Tough Work After LGBT Marriage
Sam Begley, an attorney who's running for a seat in the Mississippi House of Representatives as a Democrat, attended a presentation Hill put on for civic organization Jackson 2000, and said the state should revisit an anti-bullying bill that died in the legislative session earlier this year.
