(A Reform Party candidate is also running, but not a serious campaign and she filed no report.) Fitch raised $88,359 and spent $74,173 netting less than $15,000 for a total cash-on-hand of $110,766. McRae raised $251,729 with $160,046 cash-on-hand. Even without the $125,000 McRae and his wife put into the campaign he still outraised the incumbent. Fitch has since fired her campaign manager and staff and hired political consultant Morgan Baldwin who currently is directing the Trent Kelly campaign in the First Congressional District special election to fill the seat of the late Congressman Alan Nunnelee.

Prior to her election as state treasurer, Fitch served as Executive Director of the Mississippi State Personnel Board for three years. |
