The vote was 3-2. Voting to withdraw were Robert Deming III, George Lawrence and David Fayard, who said the city needs a deadline to get the matter resolved. Paul Tisdale and Kenny Glavan voted against leaving the authority, saying they want to know the cost to the city of regulating the taxi industry and the proposed regulations in place before pulling out of the authority. Councilwoman Dixie Newman left the room and abstained from voting and Council President Felix Gines was absent

What has followed is another group of nobodies that don’t stand a chance at the seat and don’t deserve mentioning, with the exception of Kenny Glavin, the acting mayor until today when he appointed Bobby Deming—a former aspiring rapper and DJ going by the moniker Reign—to the acting mayoral job. I knew this guy in high school and wouldn’t hand him the keys to a broken down Mercury Monarch if it was up to me, but hey, Kenny knows what he’s doing, I guess. It seems as if the Tea Party backed candidates are sticking together on this one. Imagine that.
