During a regular scheduled Tishomingo County School District School Board Meeting held on Thursday, March 20, 2014, Mrs. Christie Holly was selected as the Superintendent of Education for Tishomingo County School District, effective July 1, 2014. After completing her degree in English Education at Mississippi State University, Mrs. Holly began her teaching career in Prentiss County at Hills Chapel School as a teacher for 7th and 8th grade Reading and Language Arts. After three years, she was employed at Iuka Middle School as a 7th and 8th grade Language Arts teacher. While at Iuka Middle School, Mrs. Holly achieved National Board Certification in the area of Early Adolescence/Generalist in 2002. She then returned to school to earn her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. The district then hired Mrs. Holly as assistant principal at Iuka Middle under the leadership of Mr. Jimmy Smith. After Mr. Smith’s retirement, Mrs. Holly was promoted to the role of principal at Iuka Middle.
