"We understand that many alumni, students, staff and other friends of the University cannot conveniently attend any of the scheduled in-person listening sessions, so we designed this online listening session to provide them with an additional way to give us their thoughts on the needed experience, traits and qualities of the next chancellor."

Alan W. Perry was appointed to the Board by Governor Haley Barbour in May 2008 to represent the First (Central) Supreme Court District for a term to expire May 7, 2018. Mr. Perry practices law at the firm of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP. Prior to joining Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, Mr. Perry practiced law as partner and co-founder of Forman Perry Watkins Krutz and Tardy LLP.Mr. Perry is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is listed in the publication The Best Lawyers in America in five categories: Bet-The-Company Litigation; Commercial Litigation; Corporate Law; Litigation - Banking and Finance; and Litigation - Real Estate. He is also listed as a leading lawyer in the publication Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business. He has served as a member of the Standing Committee on Rules and Procedure of the Judicial Conference of the United States and as a Member of the Visiting Committee of Harvard Law School.
Mr. Perry received his J.D. degree from Harvard Law School, graduating magna cum laude, and was awarded the Fay Diploma as the graduate with the highest grade point average in the class. He also received the Joshua Montgomery Sears, Jr. prize for academic achievement. He served as an editor and senior editor of the Harvard Law Review. Mr. Perry received his B.B.A. in accountancy from the University of Mississippi, graduating first in his class with the distinction of summa cum laude.
